No matter, Whether, Regardless of

下列三種常見的用法：

Ex：

j不論誰反對，我都要和他結婚。
No matter who may object, I will marry him.
=Whoever may object, I will marry him.

k不論你問誰，你都得不到答案。
No matter whom you may ask, you won’t get the answer.
=Whomever you may ask, you won’t get the answer.

l不論我父母怎麼說，我都不要出國讀書。
No matter what my parents may say, I will not go abroad to study.
= Whatever my parents may say, I will not go abroad to study.

m不論你選擇哪一個，你都不會滿意。
No matter which you may choose, you won’t be satisfied.
=Whichever you may choose, you won’t be satisfied.

n不論你多麼愛他，你都不應該借錢他。
No matter how much you love him, you should not lend him the money.
=However much you love him, you should not lend him the money.

o不論你什麼時候去訪問瑪麗，你都會看到她在唸書。
No matter when you may call on Mary, you will find her reading.
=Whenever you may call on Mary, you will find her reading.

p不論你去哪裡，都必須讓我知道。
No matter where you go, you have to let me know.
=Wherever you go, you have to let me know.

2.以「whether…or」引導「表讓步的副詞子句」，用於表示無論選擇任一事物都沒關係。

Ex：

j無論是步行或開車，我都會準時到那裡。
Whether I walk or drive, I’ll be there on time.

k無論是晴天或下雨，她都要去購物。
Whether it rains or shines, she’ll go shopping.
=Rain or shine, she’ll go shopping.

3.若要表示「儘管…、不管…」，可用「in spite of」、「despite」、「regardless of」。

Ex：

j僅管她身處惡劣的處境，媒體還是會試著取得她的報導。
The media would try to get the stories from her regardless of her being in a bad situation.
= The media would try to get the stories from her despite that she was in a bad situation.

k儘管天氣不好， 我們還是去露營。
Despite the bad weather, we went camping.
=In spite of the bad weather, we went camping.
=Regardless of the bad weather, we went camping.
